Prarthana Liyanage is a Counsellor and Consulting Solutions Manager for Sensei Lanka. Being a Psychologist and experienced facilitator, she has influenced many participants to bring essential change to their lives during facilitating sessions for various Sensei Clients in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and United Arab Emirates, in addition to participants from over 15 countries facilitating in the Mastery of Self – NLP – online certification courses that were launched in 2020.
Prarthana is a Psychology graduate and holds a Diploma in Counseling Psychology, an International Diploma in Psychology, an Advanced Certificate in Psychological Counseling, Certificate in Family Counseling, a certificate in Child Psychology, and Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Management. She is also a graduate of Mastery of Self through – NLP, Expert, Achiever, and Intellect levels. Working closely with Senior Consultants, she has facilitated organizational, leadership, teams, talent transformation processes, that includes 360-degree assessments, psycho matric assessments, workshops, and collaborative inquiry groups for Sensei clients.
She has developed essential facilitating skills while working with Senior Consultants of Sensei, serving clients such as Ambeon Group, AOD, AIA, Brandix, Dialog Axiata, Hirdaramani, HSBC, IFS, Informatics, John Keells Holdings, Jetwing Hotels, Litro Gas, MAS Intimates, Millennium IT, OREL, Pan Asia Bank, Pearson, SAGT, Singer Sri Lanka, Unilever & Wiley in Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Hotels in Maldives, British American Tobacco, Kenpark, Nestle, r-pac, Servier Phama, Transsion, Unifil Group and Urmi Group in Bangladesh and Toshiba in the United Arab Emirates.
Her facilitating experiences has been augmented from facilitating at the World Conference on Youth 2014, also at a side event at the Commonwealth Youth Forum, facilitating sessions on Millennium Development Goals, First Aid, leadership and Counseling at Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association (SLGGA) Trainings and Projects, facilitating at a Career Guidance Seminar which was organized by Institute of Mind Inspiration. In addition, she has facilitated and done counseling at workshops for parents to build and develop their parenting skills. Her memberships of the Radio Society of Sri Lanka and as a license holder helps enhance her skills.
She represented Sri Lanka at the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum 2018 and have represented Sri Lanka in various international Girl Guides events. She has served in the Presidential Commission for Youth Development in 2014. In addition, she has held many positions in many youth-led organizations such as SLGGA, Old Students’ Association at the School of Media Arts & Management, and volunteer for the UN Volunteers (V Force), she was one of the youth advisors for the International Youth Alliance for Peace. Delivering a speech at the event to mark the World Humanitarian Day 2013 organized by the United Nations (UN) Sri Lanka she went on to lead many projects in above mentioned Organization.
She is passionate about voluntarism and helping people to build their lives and changing themselves. As a volunteer currently serving as a committee member for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) Asia Pacific Regional Committee and WAGGGS Friends of Asia Pacific Working Group. She also worked as a volunteer at the Family Planning Association. An advocate of empowering women and believe in working towards the betterment of opportunities available for women to develop themselves so that they are respected and valued for the essential skills they add to organizations.
